Randall Kessler serves as an Adjunct Professor at Emory University School of Law, where he teaches in the Trial Techniques Program. He earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 1988, after attending from 1985, and his B.A. in Political Science from Brandeis University in 1985. As the founding partner of KS Family Law, which he established in 1991 as a solo practice and grew into a 30-person firm specializing in domestic relations and family law matters—including divorce, child custody, paternity, prenuptial agreements, and child support—Kessler brings over 40 years of practical experience to his teaching. He has represented high-profile clients such as professional athletes, politicians, judges, television stars, celebrities, entertainers, and artists. Admitted to the State Bar of Georgia, Georgia Court of Appeals, Supreme Court of Georgia, U.S. Federal Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and the Supreme Court of the United States, Kessler is proficient in Spanish and Hebrew.
Kessler's influence in the legal field is marked by leadership roles such as Chair of the Family Law Sections of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia for 2011-2012, former Chair of the ABA Family Law Section's Family Courts Committee, and service on the ABA Family Law Section Council. He serves as Editor Emeritus of the Family Law Review for the State Bar of Georgia and has authored key publications including books 'Divorce: Protect Yourself, Your Kids, and Your Future,' 'The Georgia Library of Family Law Forms' (5th Edition), and 'How to Mediate a Divorce,' as well as articles such as 'Building a Large Size Family Law Firm' (American Journal of Family Law, Fall 2006), 'Georgia’s New Child Support Guidelines' (The Daily Report, May 2006), 'Representing the High Profile Client' (American Journal of Family Law, Fall 2004), and 'Using Email in Matrimonial Practice' (American Journal of Family Law, Fall 2003). His honors include annual selection as a Top 100 Super Lawyer, Georgia Trend Legal Elite since 2003, AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell since 1995, Attorney of the Month by Attorney At Law Magazine (July 2012), and Daily Report’s 'Lawyers on the Rise' (2002). Kessler has lectured for the ABA, AAML, AICPA, NFLPA, NBPA, Georgia Psychological Association, Georgia Society of CPAs, and bar associations nationwide and internationally, and previously taught Family Law at John Marshall Law School from 2004 to 2019. He has also served as Judge Pro Hac Vice in DeKalb County Recorders Court since 2000.
