Rate My Professor Rashad Aliyev

Rashad Aliyev is Associate Professor and Vice-Rector for Financial and Economic Affairs at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) in Baku, Azerbaijan. In this leadership role, he manages the university's financial operations and economic affairs while contributing to its academic governance. His prior positions at AzTU include Vice-Rector for University Digitization and Projects from August 2021 to February 2023, and Director of the HUB-1887 University Incubation and Acceleration Center from May to August 2021. Aliyev holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from Baku Engineering University / Baku State University, completed in 2015 and approved in 2017. He earned a Master's degree in Business Management (MBA) from Azerbaijan State University of Economics in 2012, and a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from the Political Faculty of Istanbul University in 2003.

Prior to his academic administrative career, Aliyev built extensive experience in business management and information technology. He served as CEO of AAAF Holding from August 2018 to January 2020, CEO of AAAF Media from June 2016 to August 2018, and Deputy CEO of Zirve Sport Complex from April 2014 to June 2016. In the financial sector, he was IT Deputy Director at Royal Bank from January 2009 to August 2012, Head of the Information Technology Department at ASB from October 2008 to January 2009, and IT Deputy Director at ASB from May to October 2008. Earlier, he worked as an Accounting and Banking program specialist in the SWIFT Department at CIBank from August 2006 to January 2007, PR Leading Expert at Azersun Holding from October 2005 to August 2006, Marketing Specialist at Azersun Holding from April to October 2005, and Web Developer at Sahil IT from December 2003 to April 2005. Aliyev has completed specialized training programs, including information security principles from Symantec in 2011, Business Intelligence from ORACLE in 2011, and consumer and market research techniques from VERI Research in 2005. He possesses advanced proficiency in English and Turkish, along with expertise in Windows OS, MS Office, Adobe graphic design software, web development, PHP, CSS, and database management.
