Rebekah Higgs is the Operations Lead with the Divisional Services and Administration team at the University of Otago, Christchurch. She coordinates the day-to-day administrative and support services for the Department of Surgery and Critical Care, Christchurch; the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Christchurch; and the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Musculoskeletal Medicine. Her responsibilities ensure operational continuity and support for staff, students, and departments in these areas.
Rebekah Higgs also serves as a Clinical Educator for the School of Physiotherapy within the Faculty of Health Professional Programmes, Health Sciences Division, based in Palmerston North. She has previously held the role of Lead Administrator at the University of Otago from September 2018 to May 2024. In recognition of her professional contributions, Rebekah Higgs received the Mana Whakatupu/Leadership award at the 2025 University of Otago Christchurch Matariki Staff Value Awards for demonstrating leadership and commitment during an extended period of unplanned staff absences, thereby maintaining service continuity. Additionally, in 2020, she was acknowledged in the Respect category at the Christchurch Academic Welcome ceremony as a lead administrator.
