Regan Lookadoo is Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychology at Georgetown College, having joined the faculty in 2001. She earned a B.A. from Campbellsville College and both an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Alabama. In her role, she serves as Program Contact for the Psychology Major, guiding students through the curriculum that requires a minimum of fifteen hours at the 300-level or above, including courses with a C flag for capstone experiences. Lookadoo is also affiliated with the Behavioral Neuroscience program, where she contributes as a faculty member alongside colleagues in biology and psychology. Additionally, she is listed among the faculty for Women's Studies and Child Development, supporting interdisciplinary education in these areas. Her long-standing commitment to Georgetown College was recognized at the annual Faculty and Staff Recognition Luncheon in 2022, where she was honored for 20 years of service.
Lookadoo's scholarly contributions include peer-reviewed publications in cognitive and developmental psychology. She co-authored 'Encouraging Top-Down Attention in Visual Search: A Comparison of Two Techniques' with Yingying Yang and Edward C. Merrill, published in Attention, Perception, & Psychophysics in 2017. Another key work is 'Selective Search for Conjunctively Defined Targets by Children and Young Adults,' co-authored with Edward C. Merrill and featured in the Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, Volume 89, Issue 1, in 2005. These publications explore attentional processes and visual search strategies, particularly in developmental contexts.
