Rate My Professor Richard Stride

Richard Stride serves as Provost and Vice-President, Academic at Camosun College. He was appointed to the permanent role in December 2025 following a national search, after previously holding the acting position. Stride joined Camosun in 2012 and held progressively senior leadership positions over 14 years, including Dean of the School of Business and Centre for Sport and Exercise Education, Acting Vice-President of Enrolment and Community Engagement, and Acting Provost and Vice-President of Education and Innovation. Prior to Camosun, he spent 20 years at North Island College, beginning as a faculty member and chair in Business Administration and Computer Science before advancing to Dean of Academic Programs and Acting Vice-President, Education. He has also taught at BCIT, Malaspina University College, and in the financial sector.

Stride holds a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia. He has contributed to the broader post-secondary sector as Chair of BC Business Deans and as a representative to the Association of Canadian Schools of Business. His leadership emphasizes building relationships with Indigenous communities, fostering inclusive learning environments, supporting diverse groups, and promoting equitable access to education. Stride has expressed a strong commitment to the role of colleges in delivering life-changing learning opportunities within communities.
