Rikki Rivera serves as an Adjunct English Instructor in the Literature faculty at Bates Technical College, a role she assumed in September 2024. Rivera's academic credentials include a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature, General, earned from Arizona State University between 2017 and 2018. She holds Bachelor's degrees from the University of Phoenix—one in Entrepreneurial and Small Business Operations and another in Business—both completed from 2014 to 2016. Additional qualifications encompass an Associate of Arts and Sciences from Pierce College at Fort Steilacoom in 2008-2009 and a Career and Technical Education Certificate in Career and Technical Education from Bates Technical College in 2022. Prior to her current position, Rivera taught Computer Science Technology in Career and Technical Education settings at University Place School District from 2021 to 2022 and served as a Continuing Education Instructor at Tacoma Community College from 2019 to 2022. She also held the rank of Sergeant in the US Army from 2005 to 2011, fostering leadership and discipline. Since February 2011, Rivera has run her professional photography business, specializing in digital photography, portraits, commercial photography, portrait photography, blogging, photojournalism, event photography, image manipulation, and related areas. This multifaceted career equips her to inspire and prepare Bates Technical College students for their professional journeys.
