About Ritika

Dr. Ritika Joshi serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at S.B.E.S. College of Science, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. She obtained her Ph.D. in Biophysical Spectroscopy within Physical Chemistry in 2018 from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, under the guidance of Prof. Sujit Kumar Ghosh. She completed her master's degree in Organic Chemistry in 2011 from the University Department of Chemistry, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. Joshi qualified the CSIR-NET JRF examination in 2012, securing an All India Rank of 66 in Chemical Sciences. Prior to pursuing her doctoral studies, she worked as Project Assistant-II at CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory, Jamshedpur.

Post-Ph.D., Dr. Joshi served as Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Vellore Institute of Technology, Bhopal, and the Institute of Chemical Technology Mumbai, Marathwada Campus, Jalna, accumulating six years of teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In her current role, she has supervised four master's students for their minor research projects and previously held the position of Girls' Hostel Warden at ICT Mumbai Jalna Campus. Her research expertise spans photophysics, fluorescence spectroscopy, biophysical chemistry, fluorescence sensing, halochromic molecules, and photo-pharmacology. She has authored 21 research articles, three book chapters, and one conference paper in peer-reviewed international journals. Key publications include "Unraveling Halochromism of Azo-Based Sulphonamide and Its Real-World Applications: A Combined Experimental and Theoretical Approach" (2023) and "Investigating PFOS-induced structural changes and aggregation in hen egg white lysozyme: spectroscopic and molecular insights" (2025). Joshi acts as a reviewer for various Elsevier journals and serves as Editor of the Purnabrahma magazine for the Chamber for Advancement of Small & Medium Businesses, Mumbai. She has organized workshops, short-term training programs, and conferences, and promotes science education through science day programs for school and college students. She is a Life Member of the Indian Chemical Society (Membership No. 2024-LM/8772).
