Rate My Professor Robert Ventresca

Dr. Robert Ventresca is President of King's University College. He began his post-secondary education as a first-generation undergraduate student at King's in 1989 and graduated in the Class of 1993. He earned a Ph.D. in History from the University of Toronto in 2000 and joined the faculty at King's that same year. As a longtime member of the History faculty, he established a distinguished record as an educator and researcher before assuming senior administrative roles, including Interim Academic Dean in 2022, Interim Vice-President Academic Dean in 2023, Vice-President Academic Dean in 2024, Interim President from September 2024 to November 2025, and President beginning in November 2025.

Dr. Ventresca is an internationally respected historian of the Catholic Church, modern Europe, and the Holocaust. His research and publications address topics including popular religious devotion in the early Cold War, modern Catholic social thought, papal diplomacy, and the Catholic Church's role during the era of Nazism and Fascism. He is the author of Soldier of Christ: The Life of Pope Pius XII and serves as a general editor of the multi-volume Cambridge History of the Papacy. He is currently writing a new book for Cambridge University Press on the Vatican and the Holocaust based on recently released archival documentation. Dr. Ventresca is a member emeritus of the College of New Scholars, Artists, and Scientists at the Royal Society of Canada and serves on the Committee on Ethics, Religion, and the Holocaust at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
