Dr. Robin Reagler serves as a Professor of English and Director of the Honors College at Houston Community College's Southwest Stafford Campus. Listed as full-time faculty in the English department with a Doctor of Philosophy in the HCC catalog, she earned her PhD from the University of Houston Creative Writing Program in 1995 and her MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Reagler has built a distinguished career in literary education and administration. She led Writers in the Schools (WITS) as Executive Director for 22 years, chaired the Board of Trustees of the Association of Writers & Writing Programs (AWP), and served as Board Chair of the Literary Network of Houston (LitNet). These roles highlight her commitment to advancing creative writing programs and literary organizations in Houston and beyond.
A prolific and award-winning poet, Robin Reagler has published several collections of poetry. Her books include The Always (Flowersong Press, forthcoming Summer 2025), Night Is This Anyway (Lily Poetry Review Press, 2022), Into The The (2021), Teeth & Teeth (Headmistress Press, 2018, winner of the Charlotte Mew Prize selected by Natalie Diaz), and Dear Red Airplane (Seven Kitchens Press, 2011, reprinted 2018). Night Is This Anyway won the UK’s Best Book Award in relation to Into The The. Her poems have appeared in prominent literary journals including Ploughshares, Pleiades, Iowa Review, Copper Nickel, Colorado Review, and North American Review. Through her teaching at Houston Community College and leadership in the Honors College, Reagler continues to mentor students and promote excellence in education and the arts, contributing significantly to the academic and literary communities.
