Ronald Crowe, PhD, served as Assistant Professor of Economics and Finance and Business Program Chair in the School of Business and Leadership at Our Lady of the Lake University from 2011 to 2023. He earned a B.S. in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University in 1981, an M.A. in Applied Economics from the University of Central Florida in 1990, and a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Central Florida in 1997. Prior to joining OLLU, Crowe was an associate professor at South University and held department chair and program director positions at four colleges and universities in Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. His professional career began as an Osceola County Cooperative Extension Service agent in Orlando, Florida, overseeing adult and youth education programs in farming, horses, and leadership. From 1982 to 1988, he operated an artificial insemination cattle business in North Florida and worked in advertising, agricultural sales, economic consulting, financial planning, and agribusiness consulting on cow-calf operations and composting feasibility.
At OLLU, Crowe taught finance, economics, quantitative methods, and courses in the distinguished MBA program, employing real-world applications, team-based learning, and practical decision-making strategies. He participated in an international exchange, teaching 'Evaluation of Investment Projects' at Universidad Anahuac in Puebla, Mexico. Crowe's scholarly contributions include publications in the Journal of the Academy of Business Education ('Using VBA and Excel to Create Valuation Functions,' with Kathryn Winney, December 2019), Academy of Economics and Finance Proceedings, Academy of Business Education Proceedings, and Financial Education Association Proceedings. He presented 'A look at Power BI, Power Query, R, and Python with Open-Source Financial Data' (with Michelle Avila and Kathryn Winney) at the 2023 Academy of Economics and Finance Annual Conference and co-authored 'A Five-Year Summary of the Capital One Entrepreneurship Challenge at Our Lady of the Lake University.' Crowe served as two-term president and academic chair of the Financial Executives International San Antonio Chapter, with affiliations in the Financial Educators Association and Financial Management Association. In January 2024, he joined Texas A&M University as Instructional Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics, teaching agricultural finance, corporate finance, and related courses.
