Rongbing Huang is a Full Professor of Finance in the Department of Economics, Finance, and Quantitative Analysis at the Coles College of Business, Kennesaw State University. He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Florida (2004), an MS from Virginia Tech, and a BA from Renmin University of China. Huang teaches principles of finance, corporate finance, and equity securities. His research centers on corporate finance, asset pricing, and investment banking, with a particular emphasis on financing decisions of large and small businesses.
Huang has published extensively in top finance journals, including the Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Corporate Finance, Financial Management, and Financial Review. Key publications include "Corporate Cash Shortfalls and Financing Decisions" with Jay R. Ritter (Review of Financial Studies, 2021), "The Puzzle of Frequent and Large Issues of Debt and Equity" with Jay R. Ritter (Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, 2022), "Testing Theories of Capital Structure and Estimating the Speed of Adjustment" with Jay R. His research has been presented at the American Finance Association and Western Finance Association meetings and has received substantial recognition, with his 2009 JFQA article cited over 1,700 times according to Google Scholar. Huang has earned numerous honors, including the Coles College Distinguished Scholarship Award (2008, 2021), Coles College Prizes for FT-50 Journal Publications (2020), Foundation Prizes for Publication (2010, 2012, 2017), Coles Working Paper Awards (2015, 2018), and semi-finalist status for the 2015 FMA best paper awards. He reviews for leading journals such as the Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Management Science, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Journal of Corporate Finance.
