About Ross
Ross Stewart is a postdoctoral scholar at the Centre for Biodiversity Genomics at the University of Guelph. He serves as project lead and manager for BugQuest, a nationwide community science initiative that deploys Malaise traps across Canada to survey insect biodiversity, with a focus on engaging schools and public sites to collect samples for DNA barcoding analysis at the Centre.
Stewart completed his PhD at the University of Johannesburg, where his research examined insect-plant interactions through DNA barcoding. His work contributes to broader efforts in biodiversity genomics, including the development of baseline data on Canadian insect diversity and the expansion of the Centre’s digital DNA library.
