About Rushad
Rushad Pavri serves as Senior Lecturer and Group Leader in the Peter Gorer Department of Immunobiology within the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine at King's College London. His research program centers on the molecular mechanisms of antibody maturation and genome instability in B cells, including somatic hypermutation processes that diversify immunoglobulin genes to generate high-affinity antibodies. Pavri earned his PhD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in the United States under the supervision of Danny Reinberg. He then completed postdoctoral research at the Rockefeller University in New York, advised by Michel Nussenzweig. Before joining his current institution, he held the position of independent research group leader at the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology in Vienna, Austria, from 2013 to 2023. His investigations also extend to areas within statistical and computational genetics and genomics, supporting genomic discovery efforts with implications for human health. Pavri has presented seminars addressing how chromatin architecture, transcription, and replication influence antibody maturation along with oncogenic translocations in B cells. Throughout his career, he has maintained a focus on advancing knowledge in immunobiology through rigorous experimental approaches grounded in his training in molecular biology and genetics.
