Dr. S. Nirmala is a Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Sri Eshwar College of Engineering. She earned her Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Government College of Engineering Salem, Madras University, in 1994. She obtained her Master of Engineering in Applied Electronics from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, followed by a Ph.D. in Medical Image Processing from Anna University, Chennai, in 2014. Previously, she served as Dean Academics at the institution, contributing to academic administration and oversight.
Dr. Nirmala's research specializations encompass medical image processing and signal processing. Her notable publications include 'SAR optimization and Convolutional Neural Network based Classification of Lung Tumour in CT Scan Images' (2023, Signal Processing: Image Communication), 'Fully Automated Single Window Saline Fluid Flow Control and Automatic Container Changing System' (2021, IEEE International Conference on Advanced Computing and Communication Systems), 'Enabling public transport system for visually impaired people' (2022, AIP Conference Proceedings), 'Artificial intelligence based learning for wireless application' (2022, AIP Conference Proceedings), and 'Early Autism Detection Using Ensemble Approach and Optimization Techniques' (2023, book chapter).
