Dr. S. Ramkanth serves as Principal and Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics at Karpagam College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, where he also holds the position of Head of the Department since July 2019. He earned his B.Pharm from K.M. College of Pharmacy, Madurai in 2004, M.Pharm in Pharmaceutics from the same institution under The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai in 2007, and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad in 2014. With 18 years of teaching experience as of March 2025, his career trajectory includes roles as Assistant Professor from 2007 to 2012, Associate Professor from 2012 to 2015, and Professor from 2015 to June 2019 at Annamacharya College of Pharmacy, Rajampet, Andhra Pradesh. At Karpagam College of Pharmacy, he coordinates department activities, monitors operations, and serves as the B.Pharm Program Coordinator. He has guided 10 undergraduate and 15 postgraduate projects.

Dr. Ramkanth's research focuses on transdermal drug delivery systems, microneedle technologies, and nanodrug delivery, including nanotransferosomes, proniosomes, nanocrystals, and nanoparticles for treating cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and osteoarthritis. He has published 58 papers, with 8 in SCI/WoS journals and 38 Scopus-indexed, including 'Precision engineering of vinblastine-loaded zinc oxide nanoparticles through statistical experimental design' in Nano-Structures & Nano-Objects (2025), 'Colchicine-capped ZnO nanoparticles: Elucidation of their cytotoxicity potential against MDA-MB 231 cancer cells' in OpenNano (2024), 'Box–Behnken Design: Optimization of Proanthocyanidin-Loaded Transferosomes as an Effective Therapeutic Approach for Osteoarthritis' in Nanomaterials (2022), and 'Formulation and design optimization of nano-transferosomes using pioglitazone and eprosartan mesylate for concomitant therapy against diabetes and hypertension' in European Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (2021). He received a Travel Grant from AICTE in 2010 and delivered presentations at international conferences in Dubai (2010) and Malaysia (2020). Dr. Ramkanth is registered with the Pharmacy Council of India (A1 9550) and holds lifetime memberships in the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (AP/LM-356) and INPHARM Association (PM-533-2010).
