Dr. S Zaung Nau is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Management and Marketing, Faculty of Business and Law, at Curtin University, where she serves as Course Lead for Supply Chain Management in the Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Commerce programs. She earned a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours (B.Com Hons) and a PhD from Curtin University in 2015, with her thesis titled 'Determinants of public transport use in Perth, Western Australia,' which utilized data mining and modeling to examine spatial variations in public transport demand. Her academic career at Curtin has advanced from Associate Lecturer to Senior Lecturer, with teaching responsibilities in information systems, business informatics, supply chain management, and related fields. Zaung Nau's research focuses on information systems (business informatics), data mining, public transport demand modelling, student engagement, and eLearning. She has conducted data analytics projects on sustainable transportation topics, including public transport usage, cycling, socioeconomic regional profiling, and cultural diversity indices, contributing to practical insights for policy and planning.
Zaung Nau has produced 18 scholarly publications amassing 159 citations, including the book 'Management Information Systems: Harnessing Technologies for Business & Society' (2023), the article 'Ten Years in the Academic Integrity Trenches: Experiences and Issues' (2016, Journal of Information Systems Education), 'Accessing and navigating healthcare: A scoping review of the experiences of women of refugee background from Myanmar' (2022), and 'M-Learning adoption in higher education towards SDG4' (2023). She compiled the textbook 'ISYS1000 Creating Business Value with IT' for Curtin University (2015). Her accolades include the Higher Education Academy (HEA) Fellowship and a Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning from Curtin Business School. Zaung Nau has supervised several PhD completions and holds positions on the Australia Computer Society WA Branch Executive Committee (2022-2026), the Freight and Logistics Council of WA, and the Ministerial Multicultural Advisory Council WA. She has presented on topics like diversity in Western Australia at the 2022 Curtin Corner series, enhancing her impact in academic and community spheres.
