Professor Sagnik Dey serves as Head and Vipul and Mahesh Chaturvedi Chair Professor in Policy Studies at the Centre for Atmospheric Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. He earned his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. His career at IIT Delhi includes progression from Associate Professor to Professor, with an appointment as Institute Chair Professor from 2019 to 2024. He also holds an adjunct professorship in the Department of Health, Policy and Management at Korea University, Seoul.
Professor Dey’s research focuses on aerosol-cloud-climate interactions and the links between climate change and human health. He coordinates the Centre of Excellence for Research on Clean Air (CERCA) and serves as Associate Faculty in the School of Public Policy and the Transportation Research and Injury Prevention Centre at IIT Delhi. He is Editor of GeoHealth and has published more than 200 peer-reviewed articles with an h-index of 56 according to Google Scholar. His honors include the INSA Young Scientist Medal in 2008. He maintains an active role in advancing knowledge on air quality, climate, and health through his academic appointments and editorial contributions.
