Saïd Derradji is an Economics Professor and the Rector of the Université des Sciences Islamiques de Constantine (Emir Abd-el-Kader University for Islamic Sciences), serving in the latter capacity since December 15, 2015. Born on October 2, 1960, his academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Economics from Emir Abd-el-Kader University for Islamic Sciences in December 2009, a Magister Degree in Economics and Administration (Islamic Economics branch) in 2005 from the same institution, a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics (Planning branch) from the University of Constantine in 1984, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (Legal and Administrative Sciences branch) from the University of Constantine in 2001. He also obtained a Certificate of Lawyer's Professional Skill in April 2003, a Baccalaureate in Mathematics in 1980, and a Qualification certificate in June 1977.
Professor Derradji has held extensive administrative and pedagogical positions within the university, including Vice-Rector for Foreign Relations, Cooperation, Animation, Communication, and Scientific Events from October 2013 to December 2015, Vice-Dean of the Sharia and Economics Faculty from September 2011 to October 2013, Head of the Economics and Administration Department, and various lecturing roles progressing to Lecturer of Higher Education since 2016. He currently heads the university's Scientific Council, leads the research team on 'The Role of Waqf Properties in Achieving Sustainable Development: Studying the Case of Algeria' (project number M01020140093, started January 1, 2015), and serves as Publishing Director of the Emir Abd-el-Kader University Journal since December 2015. Derradji is a member of editorial boards for journals such as Sharia & Economics Journal of Emir Abd-el-Kader University, Rimah Journal for International Researches & Studies, and Economics Journal El-Bachaïr. His teaching encompasses modules including Algerian Economics, International Economic and Financial Relations, Development Economics, Financial and Banking System, and Sustainable Development from an Islamic Perspective for Ph.D. students in Islamic Economics. His scientific fields cover Development Economy, Islamic Economics, Financial Markets, Islamic Banks, Economic and Financial International Relations, International Economy, Development of Waqf and Zakat Funds, and Algerian Economics. Earlier in his career, he worked as a journalist, heading the Economic Department at An-Nasr newspaper from 1992 to 1997.
