Dr. Samir Bajpai is a Professor (HAG) in the Department of Civil Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Raipur, having joined the institution on October 5, 1990. An alumnus of NIT Raipur and IIT Kanpur, he holds a B.E. in Civil Engineering from Government Engineering College Raipur (predecessor to NIT Raipur), an M.Tech. in Environmental Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1997, and a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur in 2009. His primary research specializations encompass environmental engineering, with a focus on water and wastewater treatment, constructed wetlands, anaerobic digestion processes, fly ash utilization, and solid waste management. These interests are reflected in his contributions to sustainable practices addressing pollution control and resource recovery.
Over his more than 33 years of career at NIT Raipur, Dr. Bajpai has undertaken key administrative appointments, including Head of the Career Development Center (CDC), a position linked to training and placement responsibilities since 1997, Professor in-charge of CDC, and involvement in industry-institute collaborations. He serves as a nominated member on the Board of Governors, Senate, and Finance Committee, and as nodal officer for initiatives like C-GANGA with IIT Kanpur.
