Dr. Sangita De is a Lecturer in the Department of Management at Griffith University, part of the Griffith Business School, located on the Gold Coast Campus. She is recognized as an industry expert and scholar specializing in Human Resource Development, with a particular emphasis on the future of work, digitalization, and related areas. Her research interests include human resource management, organizational development, organizational culture, strategic human resource management, training and development, leadership, change management, strategic management, and cross-cultural management. Dr. De earned her PhD from Griffith University in the Department of Employment Relations and Human Resources. Her doctoral thesis, titled "The Manager's Voice: A Critical Examination of the Manager's Role in the Call Centre," was supervised by Professor Mohan Thite and completed around 2010. She holds Fellow status with the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), reflecting her commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
In her academic career at Griffith University, Dr. De has taught a range of postgraduate and undergraduate courses, including Human Resource Development (7015EHR), Negotiation (3021EHR), and Unlocking Career Readiness for Business Professionals (3104GBS). She actively supervises higher degree by research students, such as co-supervising Arash Mashhady's PhD on "Diversity management in the era of workplace digitalisation" with Professors Kate Hutchings and Susan Ressia. Her key publications include the book chapter "The ambiguities of ‘managed professionalism’: working in and with IT" in Perspectives on Contemporary Professional Work (Edward Elgar, 2016, co-authored with Bob Russell and Clive Trusson), the article "Managing the duality: managerial challenges in an ICT-intensive ‘professionalised services’ model" (Asia Pacific Journal of Human Resources, 2014), "Cultural Context Connections between Bhutan and Australia: Research Notes on Instructional Design" (South Asian Journal of Human Resource Management, 2017), and an interview feature "Interview with Uma Rani TM, senior vice president, SAP India" (2015). Additional works encompass "Homeless Abroad, Homeless at Home: The Conundrum of Globalisation" (co-authored with Robin D. Pentecost) and contributions to the Encyclopedia of Human Resource Management. Dr. De serves on the editorial board of the South Asian Journal of Human Resources Management and contributes to international educational programs, such as leading sessions for Australia Awards participants from Bhutan.
