Sara Gubala is an Instructor in the Department of Political Science at Lamar University. She holds a Master of Arts in Political Science and Applied Politics from American University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish from Roanoke College. As part of her role at Lamar University, Gubala engages extensively with students through various advisory capacities that span political organizations, honor societies, service groups, Greek life, and pre-law activities.
Gubala serves as Faculty Advisor for the College Republicans, Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society Zeta Lambda chapter, Caring Cardinals, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, College Panhellenic Council, and Lamar Catholic Student Center. She is also the faculty sponsor of the Lamar Pre-Law Society and coach of the Lamar Moot Court team. These positions allow her to guide students in political science, leadership, civic engagement, legal preparation, and community involvement. Gubala's service-oriented approach has earned her notable awards, including the Lamar University Julie and Ben Rogers Community Service Award, the Rotary Club of Beaumont Vocational Excellence Award in 2017, and selection as an Aces Fellow. Her multifaceted contributions strengthen the Political Science department and support the development of future leaders at Lamar University.
