About Sayed Karim Shah

Sayed Karim Shah Nekmal serves as the Chancellor and Associate Professor at Pamir University, also known as Pamir Institute of Higher Education, the pioneering private higher education institution in southeastern Afghanistan, founded in 2011 in Khost Province. In his leadership role, and as Head of the Association of Private Universities in the Southeastern Zone, he chairs the Academic Council meetings, where key agendas include improving curricula, promoting research activities, building lecturers' academic capacities, tracking student academic progress, and planning seminars, conferences, and research publications. He also presides over regular administrative meetings focused on enhancing administrative structure, ensuring justice and transparency, efficient resource management, and implementing supervisory evaluations and coordination. Nekmal has chaired meetings following occasions such as Eid-ul-Fitr, providing guidance on teaching, attendance, and administration for the new academic term.

Professor Nekmal actively contributes to academic development by delivering seminars and workshops. He presented a seminar on “Guide to Academic Writing” for eighth-semester Computer Science students, covering topic selection, research questions, methodology, data analysis, findings, APA citation styles, academic integrity, and plagiarism avoidance. He also conducted two-day seminars on new monograph writing guidelines for seventh-semester Computer Science students, addressing research terminology, methodology, organization, and defense preparation. At scientific conferences, he delivered opening remarks on “Choosing a Good Topic for a Research Paper” and participated in sessions on “Separation of Forces in the United Nations,” highlighting the importance of research. Administratively, he signed joint agreements with Rabi'a Balkhi Higher Education Institutions and Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education for academic cooperation, including teaching exchanges, training programs, research collaboration, curriculum alignment, student facilities, and joint initiatives. He participates in university events like special Kankor entrance examinations, emphasizing transparency and quality, welcomes Ministry of Higher Education supervisory delegations, and engages externally through meetings with the Khost Governor on industrial exhibitions supporting private sector and exports, as well as addresses at the International Day of Generosity promoting charity and student support.
