About Scott
Scott Cahalan serves as Deputy Chief Executive of Trades and Primary Industries at Charles Darwin University. In this leadership position within CDU TAFE, he oversees vocational education and training programs focused on trades such as driver training, electrical, plumbing, and primary industries including agriculture and related sectors in the Northern Territory. Cahalan has presented at university events, including the CDU TAFE campus tour during Australian Training Awards Week on December 4, 2025, highlighting the capabilities of TAFE facilities and programs.
In March 2026, amid concerns over disruptions in apprentice training courses, Cahalan confirmed that the university had sourced two consultants from the Australian Capital Territory and Queensland to support resolution and continuity of student programs. His role involves engaging with industry stakeholders, contributing to discussions on training innovation, electric vehicle technologies, and policy developments relevant to trades and primary industries. Cahalan's contributions support CDU's mission to deliver high-quality vocational outcomes aligned with Northern Territory economic needs.
