Dr. Seth Wekesa serves as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Law, University of Nairobi, a position he has held since 2016, teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students. His academic background includes a Doctor of Laws (LLD) from the University of Pretoria in 2016, Master of Laws (LLM) degrees from the University of Nairobi and the University of Pretoria, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Nairobi, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law (PGDL) from the Kenya School of Law. As an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over ten years of standing, Dr. Wekesa maintains an active legal practice as a partner at Munyao Muthama & Kashindi (MMK) Advocates.
Dr. Wekesa's research and publications focus on administrative law, devolution, corporate governance, gender equality in legal education, and human rights. Key publications include 'The duty to give reasons under Kenya's Fair Administrative Action Act, 2015 in Kenya: Seven years later,' co-authored with Nelson Otieno and published in the Kabarak Journal of Law and Ethics in 2022. He co-authored 'Reconfiguring Legal Education to Deepen Gender Equality: Mainstreaming Gender Through Curriculum Review at the School of Law, University of Nairobi' with Patricia Kameri-Mbote. His body of work encompasses journal articles, books, and chapters in books. Dr. Wekesa has supervised multiple master's and doctoral theses, contributed to curriculum review, and served as Rapporteur for the Presidential Taskforce on Modernisation and Transformation of Government Press from July to December 2023. A DAAD scholar and University of Pretoria scholar, he teaches courses such as Administrative Law I and II, and Sports and Entertainment Law, enriching legal education in public administration and governance at the University of Nairobi School of Law.
