Dr. Shailendra S. Rana serves as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Dentistry at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bathinda. He earned his BDS and MDS in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Deformities from AIIMS New Delhi in 2014, complemented by advanced qualifications including MAMS, Fellow of the Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons (England), and Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Glasgow). With over ten years of professional experience, Dr. Rana specializes in orthodontics, focusing clinically on malocclusion, functional appliance therapy, cleft lip and palate management, and obstructive sleep apnea. He oversees the Orthodontics specialty clinic at AIIMS Bathinda, providing treatment for malaligned teeth, cleft lip and palate, obstructive sleep apnea, and mouth breathing habits on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Dr. Rana's research interests include cleft lip and palate, bone and soft tissue biomarkers in orthodontic tooth movement, finite element analysis for orthodontic forces, artificial intelligence applications in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning, 3D imaging and surgical planning, mini-screw implants and skeletal anchorage systems, and digital orthodontics involving 3D scanning, computer-aided design, and 3D printing.
