About Shakila

Dr. Shakila Yasmin is a Professor and Coordinator of the MBA Program at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She also serves as Warden of the IBA Hostel. Her robust academic background includes a PhD from IBA, University of Dhaka; an MBA from Schulich School of Business, York University, Canada; an MBA from IBA, University of Dhaka; an MA in Gender, Feminist and Women’s Studies from York University, Canada; and a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). With over 21 years of experience in teaching, research, and training, she teaches courses in finance, operations, and supply chain management at undergraduate, MBA, and Executive MBA levels. Additionally, she has completed certificate courses in Innovation and Design Thinking from Smith School of Business, Queen's University, Canada; Healthcare Leadership and Management from Institute of Healthcare Leadership and Management, Oxford, UK; Supply Chain Management and Strategies from Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, India; and Business School Accreditation Training from AACSB South Asia Chapter, India.

Dr. Yasmin's research specializations include capital markets and institutions, corporate finance, supply chain management, and gender issues in organizations. She has published 35 articles in peer-reviewed indexed journals nationally and internationally, along with two book chapters in edited volumes by recognized publishers. Key publications encompass "A Meta-Analysis of the Role of Working Capital Management on Firm Profitability" with Md. Mohiuddin (2021, Global Business and Economic Review, Scopus-indexed), "Determinants of Green Credit and Its Influence on Bank Performance in Bangladesh" with Ireen Akhter (2021, International Journal of Business, Economics and Law), "Does Gender Diversity in Corporate Boards Pay Off? A Study on the Banking Sector of Bangladesh" with Ireen Akhter (2019, Journal of Business Administration), "Institutional Theory and Gendered Organizations: A site for elucidation and deinstitutionalization of masculinity of organizations" (2016, Journal of Business Administration), and the book chapter "Healthcare Supply Chains During Covid-19 Pandemic: Lessons Learnt and the Way Forward" (2021, Nova Science Publishers, USA). She has consulted for the World Bank, National Board of Revenue, Titas Gas Transmission Co. Ltd., UNDP, and private companies, while serving as an executive trainer for public, private, and international organizations. Dr. Yasmin contributes to governance as an expert member of the search committee for Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (2024) and supports youth leadership and entrepreneurship programs.
