About Shenghan

Shenghan Zhou is affiliated with the Laboratory of Agricultural Information Intelligent Sensing in the College of Biosystems Engineering and Food Science at Zhejiang University. His research focuses on the development of implantable sensors for monitoring plant biomarkers, including work on machine learning-enabled systems for early detection of abiotic stresses such as acid and salt stress in plants.

Zhou is the first author of the 2026 paper titled 'Machine learning-enabled implantable plant biomarker sensor for early detection and classification of acid and salt stress' published in Nature Communications. This work describes a foldable sensor design for continuous monitoring of hydrogen peroxide, potassium ions, and pH in plant tissues, with validation across multiple plant species and classification accuracy using LightGBM models. Additional publications include contributions to studies on implantable electrochemical microsensors for in vivo monitoring in plants.
