Silméia Garcia Zanati Bazan serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of Botucatu, Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp). She graduated with a medical degree from the same faculty in 1998. Her academic appointments include the MS-5.3 title under the RDIDP regime, and she is a CNPq Research Productivity Fellow at Level 2.
Her research contributions center on cardiovascular topics, with publications addressing heart failure, myocardial remodeling, Chagas disease, and related conditions. Notable works include studies on health-related quality of life and mortality in heart failure (2021), global variations in heart failure etiology and outcomes (2023), and the effects of gamma-oryzanol on cardiorenal metabolic syndrome (2017). Additional publications examine ventricular dysfunction in Chagas disease (2006), left ventricular remodeling after myocardial infarction (2012 and 2013), and cardiovascular risk in inflammatory bowel disease (2020).
