About Srinwanti Hazra

Dr. Srinwanti Hazra Chaudhury serves as a Lecturer in Marketing within the UQ Business School at the University of Queensland. She is affiliated with the Marketing Discipline and the Social Identity and Groups Network (SIGN) Research Centre. Her expertise encompasses collective wellbeing and research methods. Dr. Chaudhury is actively involved in the Alliance for Social Impact research hub, contributing to the project titled "Building resilient social enterprises in Queensland." This initiative, funded by the Queensland Department of Employment, Small Business and Training, examines the challenges confronting social enterprises across metropolitan, regional, and Indigenous contexts, including startups. The research addresses key issues such as the metropolitan-regional divide, support networks, and the role of growing Indigenous corporations and startup social enterprises in fostering resilience. Collaborating with researchers including Professor Jay Weerawardena, Associate Professor Jo Previte, Dr. Sandeep Salunke from QUT, Sharlene Leo-Dyer, and others, the project aims to identify practical strategies for enhancing the sustainability and growth of Queensland's social enterprise sector.

Prior to her appointment at the University of Queensland, Dr. Chaudhury held a position as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh, United States, following the completion of her doctoral studies at UNSW Business School. She has engaged with the academic community through presentations at major conferences, such as the Society for Consumer Psychology (SCP) 2022 conference in collaboration with Nitika Garg and Zixi Jiang, and the Association for Consumer Research (ACR) 2022. Her scholarly interests include emotional responses like threat-awe, as explored in studies on mixed emotional experiences. At UQ, Dr. Chaudhury coordinates and lectures in courses including Consumer Behaviour (MKTG2501), Social Media Management (ADVT7510), and Advertising Strategy (ADVT7509), contributing to the education of students in marketing principles and digital strategies.
