Dr. Suresh Mikkili serves as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Goa, a position he currently holds following his joining the institute on January 15, 2013. With over 13 years of combined research and teaching experience in engineering, he earned his B.Tech degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from S.I.T.E., affiliated with JNTU Hyderabad, in 2006; M.Tech degree in Power Electronics and Electrical Drives from JNTU College of Engineering, Kakinada, in 2008; and Ph.D. degree in Power Electronics from the National Institute of Technology Rourkela in 2012. Throughout his career at NIT Goa, Dr. Mikkili has taken on significant administrative responsibilities, including Head of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department from June 2014 to November 2015 and again currently, Dean of Student Welfare from September 2015 to July 2019, and Chief Warden.

Dr. Mikkili's research interests focus on smart electric grids, electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, grid-integrated renewable energy systems, and power quality issues. His scholarly contributions include over 130 publications in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences, garnering more than 4,100 citations, an h-index of 32, and an i10-index of 58 as per Google Scholar. Key publications encompass 'Hybrid, Optimal, Intelligent and Classical PV MPPT Techniques: A Review' (2021), 'Experimental Validation of Novel Shade Dispersion PV Array Configurations' (2023), and 'RTDS Hardware Implementation and Simulation of SHAF for Power Quality Improvement' (2012). He has led research projects such as the 'Design and Development of an Efficient Grid-Integrated Distributed Maximum Power Point Tracking Scheme for PV Systems.' Dr. Mikkili holds granted Indian patents, including 'MOSFET based...' with Pritesh Anil Metha (2024) and 'Smart Street Light.' A Senior Member of IEEE since 2019, he has authored the AICTE-approved textbook 'Power System - I' for third-year B.Tech students and organized national workshops and conferences such as STPEC 2025. His work demonstrates substantial impact in advancing renewable energy integration and power electronics within the engineering field.
