Professor Susanna Leong is the Deputy President (Academic) & Provost at the Singapore Institute of Technology. She previously served as Vice President (Applied Research) and Associate Professor at the institution. Prof Leong holds a BEng with First Class Honours and an MPhil in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, as well as a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge awarded in 2006. She is a Fellow of the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and maintains adjunct faculty appointments at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, including as Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry.
Her research focuses on biomolecular engineering and bioprocess engineering, with applications in food, healthcare, and bioremediation. She has contributed to the growth of applied research initiatives at SIT in these areas. Prof Leong serves on the editorial board of Biotechnology Notes.
