Dr. T. Amudha serves as Professor in the Department of Computer Applications at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. She earned her B.Sc. in Physics from Sri Sarada Niketan College, Karur, and pursued advanced studies, including a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Bharathiar University. With 25 years of teaching experience and 20 years of research experience, she qualified the UGC-NET for Lectureship in 2003. Dr. Amudha has been associated with Bharathiar University since 2005, progressing from Associate Professor to her current position as Professor.
Her primary research interests include Bio-inspired Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, Agent Based Computing, and Internet of Things. Dr. Amudha has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications, comprising 37 in international journals and 42 conference papers, accumulating more than 700 citations on Google Scholar. Notable works include 'A review on mammogram image enhancement techniques for breast cancer detection' (2014, with D.S. Gowri), 'A comparative study on heuristic procedures to solve bin packing problems' (2022, with R. Yesodha, Computer Communications), 'IoT & AI in smart farming: implications and challenges' (2022, with T. Hashni and S. Ramakrishnan), 'Leveraging Machine Learning for accurate Precipitation Forecasting' (2025, with T. Hashni), and 'Efficient DNA-ligand interaction framework using fuzzy C-means clustering' (2023, with E. Kiruba Nesamalar and J. Satheeshkumar). She has contributed to edited volumes such as 'Artificial Intelligence: A Complete Insight' (2021). Her research applies bio-inspired metaheuristics to optimization challenges in vehicle routing, disaster management, healthcare data analysis, and agriculture.
