Teresa (Teri) Stone, RN, RMN, BA, MHM, PhD, FACMHN, Grad Cert Tertiary Education, is Conjoint Professor in the School of Nursing and Midwifery within the Faculty of Health and Medicine at the University of Newcastle, Australia. She completed her PhD at the University of Newcastle. Prior to academia, Stone worked as a mental health nurse in the UK and Australia. She served as Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Newcastle from 2008 to 2010. Currently, she holds a conjoint appointment at the University of Newcastle, serves as Professor in the Graduate School of Medicine at Yamaguchi University, Japan, since January 2012, and is a visiting professor at universities across Asia including Wuhan University and Chiang Mai University. She is also affiliated with the University of New England and listed as a researcher at the University of Newcastle.
Stone's research specializations encompass nursing ethics, mental health nursing, assertive communication training for healthcare professionals, disaster nursing preparedness, cross-cultural health and wellbeing beliefs, workplace violence against nurses, and verbal aggression including swearing in healthcare settings. She has produced 104 publications garnering 2,037 citations.
