Thea Goldin Smith serves as Lead Faculty for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program at Houston Community College, where she contributes to initiatives in Business & Economics focused on entrepreneurship and small business development. With over 20 years of experience working with business and educational teams as well as individuals, she specializes in fostering creative thinking, innovation, and change. Thea Goldin Smith is a certified instructor in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Kirton Adaption-Innovation (KAI) inventory. She has utilized these instruments to coach teams and individuals since 1998. Additionally, she has developed and led training programs that enhance team function and improve leadership skills through the use and understanding of cognitive styles in problem-solving. Her expertise supports students and professionals in gaining practical skills for business success at Houston Community College.
Thea Goldin Smith has guided and assisted in leading major Thinking Expeditions for prominent organizations, including Exxon, Texaco, Shell, Lever Ponds, Halliburton, Procter & Gamble, the U.S. Navy, U.S. Joint Service Military Operations, and the Swedish Institute for Management (IFL). She also holds the title of Chief Possibilideas Guide for Level VII Resources within the HCC Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses faculty. Her most recent efforts involve promoting school reform with administrators, teachers, and students in the Houston Independent School District (HISD). Through her roles in events such as Open for Business and VEP Small Business Success Series, Thea Goldin Smith plays a vital part in Houston Community College's efforts to empower entrepreneurs and business leaders in the Business & Economics field.
