Dr Thomas Sim is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Health at Southern Cross University, specializing in counselling education and research. His comprehensive academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Tasmania, a Graduate Certificate in eLearning from the University of New England, a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education, a Master of Counselling from the University of Queensland, a Master of Education, and a PhD from the University of Tasmania. Thomas is an accomplished educator, counsellor, and researcher with over two decades of diverse professional experience across academic, clinical, and leadership roles. Prior appointments include serving as Course Coordinator at the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors and as Director of Research and Training at the Dyslexia Association of Singapore. These positions have honed his expertise at the intersection of education and counselling, driven by a commitment to empowering individuals and promoting positive change.
Thomas Sim's research interests focus on counselling and wellbeing, access to mental health services, teaching in higher education, and inclusive education.
