Thomas Winship is a Full Professor of Business Management and Accounting Program Chair in the Department of Business, Aviation & Construction Professions at Dutchess Community College. He joined the institution in 2016 initially as an Instructor, advancing to Assistant Professor, then to Associate Professor in 2023, and to Full Professor in 2026 following Board of Trustees approval. Winship earned a B.S. from SUNY Empire State College and an M.B.A. from St. Thomas Aquinas College. As part of the Business & Economics faculty, he delivers instruction in business management and accounting, drawing on his extensive practical experience to prepare students for professional careers.
Before entering full-time academia, Winship spent twenty years in the corporate world, primarily within the pharmaceutical industry, where he progressed to HR executive roles specializing in organizational development and communications. He subsequently established a boutique consulting company. Winship began teaching college courses in 2008, encompassing undergraduate and graduate subjects in Business, Communications, and English, and pioneered online course delivery since 2010. From 2012 to 2014, he served as MBA Director at a private college in southern New York. In his current capacities at Dutchess Community College, he oversees the Accounting Program, ensuring alignment with industry standards, and remains accessible to students from office T-305 at (845) 431-8378.
