Dr. Timothy Oxley serves as Interim Dean of the College of Business & Aviation and Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs at Fairmont State University within the Business & Economics faculty. He has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to the institution, with over 25 years of service recognized in 2016 during the outstanding faculty members achievement event. Throughout his career, Oxley has held pivotal leadership roles, including Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs in 2023, where he commended faculty dedication to teaching, scholarship, and advising at the annual awards luncheon; Vice President of Student Services in 2017, contributing to adjustments in PROMISE Beyond Scholarship awards; Associate Dean of the School of Business and Associate Professor of Business from 2012 to 2015; MBA Program Director; and earlier as Associate Professor of Business in 2009. His extensive administrative experience, spanning more than three decades in higher education, underscores his influence on academic affairs, faculty development, student success, and business education programs.
In his academic contributions, Dr. Oxley co-authored the paper 'Bringing SMILES to the Classroom: Strategies to Create a Stimulating Learning Environment for Teacher and Student' with Macgorine A. Cassell, presented at the Academic Business World International Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, from May 26-28, 2008, and published in the conference proceedings. He received a Regional Service and Engagement (RSEED) Grant in 2010, jointly with Dr. Joseph Blankenship, to support research, planning, and development of a proposal for the Business Outreach Center within the School of Business. As a professor in the Business department, he has taught courses including management (MGMT3370), business (BUSN2202), and MBA classes (MSBA5110), fostering stimulating learning environments and professional development for students in Business & Economics. Oxley's leadership has enhanced institutional initiatives such as Title III programs for underserved students' degree completion and career readiness, as well as articulation agreements like the one with Pierpont Community & Technical College for healthcare management pathways. His roles exemplify impact on the academic field through service, engagement, and administrative excellence at Fairmont State University.
