Troy Miller serves as Assistant Professor of Engineering and Program Director of the Construction Management program in the Department of Engineering at Colorado Mesa University, a role he assumed in January 2013. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Brigham Young University in 1999 and a Master of Science degree in Construction Management from Colorado State University in 2004. For his master's thesis, titled "A Paradigmatic Method for Decision Support in Construction Management," Miller explored the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) for estimating and 4D simulations to aid construction managers in decision-making. Before joining Colorado Mesa University, Miller taught as a Professor of Construction Management at Brigham Young University-Idaho from January 2004 to December 2013, delivering courses such as Building Information Modeling, Construction Estimating, Construction Project Management, Advanced Estimating & Bidding, and Construction Scheduling. Miller's professional experience in the construction industry includes positions as Assistant Project Manager and Estimator at Intermountain Construction, Inc. from 1999 to 2002, managing multimillion-dollar projects such as the Les Saisons mixed-use resort and the John Paul Day Lodge at Snow Basin for the 2002 Winter Olympics, and as Project Manager and Junior Estimator at Bateman-Hall General Contractors, Inc. from 1997 to 1999 on commercial builds including retail stores and schools. Since 2003, he has provided freelance services such as quantity surveys, cost estimating, scheduling, and software training. At Colorado Mesa University, he teaches courses including Construction Estimating (CONM 340), Construction Project Management (CONM 480), Planning and Scheduling (CONM 472), Construction Financial Management (CONM 401), and Managing Safety and the Regulatory Environment (CONM 370).
