Uditha Dharmakeerthi is an Academic Fellow in the Department of Computer Systems Engineering within the Faculty of Computing at the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT). With more than 20 years of combined industry and teaching experience in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), he has developed and delivered comprehensive courses across diverse ICT disciplines. His teaching philosophy centers on clarity and enthusiasm, employing interactive learning methods and hands-on approaches to help students master complex concepts. This dedication has earned consistent positive feedback from students and peers. He actively engages in curriculum development to ensure alignment with industry requirements and has a proven track record of mentoring students through their final-year projects, resulting in exceptional outcomes. He remains committed to keeping abreast of emerging technological trends.
His academic credentials comprise a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Management from London Metropolitan University, United Kingdom (2016–2017), a Bachelor of Science in Management and Information Technology from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka (1999–2002), and a National Diploma in Technology (Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering) from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka (1995–1998). Dharmakeerthi’s research focuses on Information Communication Technology and Networking, Internet of Things (IoT), Information Security, Cloud Computing, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), and Wireless Communications. Notable publications include four papers presented at the 5th International Conference on Advancements in Computing (ICAC) in Colombo, 2023: “A Mobile-Based Application for Enhance the Knowledge of Kindergarten Children” (pp. 840–845), “Enhancing Security in SDN Environments Through Multi-Layer Authentication and Machine Learning-Based Threat Mitigation” (pp. 768–773), “Bridging the Gap: Secure Northbound Interface in SDN with gRPC” (pp. 668–673), and “Sankalpa—Interactive Digital Learning Platform to Enrich Students with Special Needs” (pp. 53–58). He has also published in the International Research Journal of Innovations in Engineering and Technology (IRJIET), Volume 7, 2023, on topics such as vehicular communication frameworks for smart cities, island-wide courier service platforms, secure DICOM for medical imaging privacy, enhanced enterprise device theft detection systems, and GreenAg, a mobile platform for preserving eco-friendly traditional vegetable crop remedies in Sri Lanka.
