Dr. Vaibhav Jain is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Delhi. He joined the institute on September 14, 2010, as regular faculty and assumed the role of Head upon the department's establishment in 2019. Holding a Ph.D., Dr. Jain leads efforts to deliver a robust undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering as per the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University curriculum, incorporating research projects, industrial training, and promotion of lifelong learning. Under his guidance, the department fosters excellence through experienced faculty with doctoral qualifications, state-of-the-art laboratories in areas such as Thermal Engineering and Machine Design, and active industry interactions via workshops, faculty development programs, seminars, and conferences. The department hosts technical societies including SAE, ASHRAE—with sponsored projects valued at US $60,000— Aerostar for UAV technology, and 3D Space for additive manufacturing. Students under his leadership participate in competitions, securing prizes in academic and co-curricular activities.
Dr. Jain's research focuses on refrigeration and air conditioning, heat transfer, computational fluid dynamics, and renewable energy. He has authored key publications including 'Performance analysis of a novel ejector-assisted condenser refrigeration system' (2024), 'Comparative performance investigation of a dual evaporator refrigeration system' (2023), 'Thermodynamic Performance Evaluation of Heat Pipe' (2018), 'Multi-Objective Optimization of Cascade Refrigeration System using NSGA-II' (2020), and 'Energy and Exergy Analysis of Vapor Compression Refrigeration System.' His scholarly work has accumulated approximately 700 citations across 34 publications. Dr. Jain has earned the prestigious ASHRAE Student Branch Advisor of the Year award in both 2020 and 2024. He serves as a member of the institute's Internal Quality Assurance Cell, contributes to editorial boards of MAIT journals, and mentors student teams to achievements such as the Rising Star position in the ASHRAE Applied Engineering Challenge.
