Valérie Langlois is a Full Professor at the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS) affiliated with the Eau Terre Environnement Research Centre. She serves as Chairholder of the Canada Research Chair in Ecotoxicogenomics and Endocrine Disruption (Tier 1) and as scientific head of the Ecotoxicogenomics, Environmental DNA/RNA and Endocrine Disruption Laboratory. Her research focuses on the harmful effects of chemicals present in aquatic environments on vertebrates, including impacts on hormone synthesis, metabolism, development, and reproduction. Key research axes include the use of environmental DNA and RNA for species tracking in healthy and polluted environments, the effects of emerging pollutants such as nanoplastics, PFAS, and pesticides on aquatic species development, and comparative endocrinology with emphasis on endocrine disruptors in aquatic species.
Langlois leads collaborative projects with academic and government partners to assess contaminant impacts on vertebrate physiology and biodiversity. Her professional email address is valerie.langlois@inrs.ca.
