Professor A. Veeresh Babu serves as a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Warangal, a position he has held since 2022. He joined the institute in 2006 as an Assistant Professor, advancing to Associate Professor in 2018. In addition to his academic role, he is the Head of the Central Research Instrumentation Facility (CRIF), overseeing research instrumentation and supporting multidisciplinary projects. His professional engagements include membership in the institute's Senate, participation in various committee meetings, and contributions to events such as the one-day awareness program on Electric Vehicle Battery Management Systems in 2026 and the Energy Saving Awareness and Training Program. Professor Babu holds a Ph.D. and is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India) since 2024, with life membership in the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTD) from 2021 and membership in the Institution of Engineers (India) from 2008.
His research focuses on alternate fuels, emissions control, fuel cells, HVAC, internal combustion (IC) engines, and thermal engineering. Professor Babu has supervised 14 Ph.D. students, with nine having successfully defended their theses on subjects including quaternary biodiesel blends in common rail direct injection diesel engines, nanofluids in cleanroom air handling units, ternary biodiesel blends with nanoadditives, PEM fuel cells, solid oxide fuel cells, biofueled engines, microalgae biodiesel, and CI engine performance with biodiesel. He has undertaken 10 research projects and boasts a robust publication record of 71 works, including 56 journal articles, seven conference papers, three book chapters, four textbooks, and one educational package. His scholarly output has accumulated over 570 citations, reflected in an h-index of 11. Professor Babu's contributions extend to editing proceedings such as Recent Trends in Mechanical Engineering and Innovations in Mechanical Engineering, underscoring his influence in advancing knowledge in mechanical engineering subfields at NIT Warangal.
