Rate My Professor Vicky Graham

Prof Vicky Graham serves as Senior Director: Strategic Initiatives and Administration at the University of Johannesburg. She obtained her PhD in Political Studies from the University of Johannesburg in 2013. Her research interests include democracy studies, with a particular focus on the quality of democracy, African Small Island Developing States, comparative politics, and South African democracy and development. In 2015, she published the book Pass or Fail? Assessing the Quality of South Africa’s Democracy.

Prof Graham is also engaged in community work related to active citizenship and youth development, serving as academic consultant and advisor for the NPO Engage South Africa and its ‘My Voice’ programme. In 2020, she became Executive Director of the Consortium for Regional Integration and Social Cohesion-Social Elevation (RISC-RISE). She has held previous academic positions including Associate Professor in the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Johannesburg.
