Victor M. Davila is an Associate Professor of Graphic Design and Illustration at the University of Central Florida's School of Visual Arts and Design in the College of Arts and Humanities. He received his B.A. in Art: Graphic Design and M.F.A. in Studio Art and the Computer from UCF. Prior to his faculty appointment in Fall 2011, Davila worked at UCF's Center for Distributed Learning, producing graphics for online course instructors. He currently teaches courses such as Intermediate Illustration I, Advanced Graphic Design, Intermediate Graphic Design II, and Special Problems in Graphic Design.
As a practicing illustrator and designer, Davila's clients have included Scholastic Book Fairs, Ruby Tuesday Restaurants, Highlights Magazine, Brainplay Magazine, Sloppy Joe's Restaurants, the Orlando Repertory Theatre, General Mills, and The Orlando Weekly. He is the founder of Giant Illustrators, a central Florida-based illustrator collective. Davila serves as President Emeritus of AIGA Orlando, holds a position on the National Board of AIGA, participates on the AIGA Design Educators Community Steering Committee, and hosts CreativeMornings Orlando. He also represents the College of Arts and Humanities as a Senate Representative on UCF's University Master Planning Committee. Davila was granted tenure and promoted to Associate Professor by the College of Arts and Humanities in 2021 and was recognized as a honoree for the College of Arts and Humanities at UCF's 2022 Founders' Day.
