Victoria Hinkley is a Lecturer in Biomedical Science in the School of Health at the University of the Sunshine Coast. She joined the university as an Associate Lecturer in Biomedical Science in February 2022, having previously served as a sessional academic teaching first- and second-year Biomedical Science courses for four years. Victoria holds a first-class Honours degree awarded in 2015 by the University of the Sunshine Coast. Her research has focused on vascular changes associated with pre-eclamptic and hypertensive pregnancies, migraine, and stroke. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Queensland’s Perinatal Research Centre, where her work examines vascular changes in sick premature infants and their effects on brain health. Victoria teaches courses including Introductory Bioscience and Human Physiology. She is a member of the Perinatal Society of Australia and New Zealand, Cerebrovascular Biology Australasia, the Australia and New Zealand Microcirculation Society, the International Society for Cerebral Blood Flow & Metabolism, and the Australian Physiological Society. In 2025, she received recognition as part of a national award for university educators for her role as course coordinator. Victoria Hinkley contributes to the academic community through her roles in professional societies and collaborative research on cerebrovascular and perinatal physiology.
