McEniery has organized and participated in several high-profile initiatives. In October 2025, she coordinated an Otago roadshow across India, which received coverage from multiple media outlets. She also hosted the event 'Shared values, shared futures: India and New Zealand in the 21st century' in May 2025, highlighting opportunities in research, innovation, and cultural exchange. In 2019, she was present for the signing of two international Memoranda of Understanding with partner institutions. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, she helped maintain strong interest from overseas students via recruitment events, including one at Taylor's College in Malaysia.
