Dr Vincent Chang serves as a Lecturer in the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance within the Faculty of Business and Law at Curtin University. He coordinates the unit ACCT2000 Business Processes and Internal Controls, which examines essential business processes, internal control systems, and risk management practices in accounting contexts. His teaching occurs in Curtin Business School 2, Building 407, and he contributes to the professional development of students through structured coursework and consultations.
In partnership with Professor Saurav Dutta from the School of Accounting, Dr Chang co-developed Curtin Coin, an innovative educational cryptocurrency project that earned the Teaching and Learning Winner award at the 2020 Curtinnovation Awards. Curtin Coin introduces blockchain and cryptocurrency concepts to business students in a hands-on manner. Students earn coins as rewards from tutors and redeem them at specific university events or Curtin outlets. The project fosters practical understanding of blockchain fundamentals, cryptocurrency transactions, and the cyber economy. Furthermore, the team has developed a blockchain-based adaptation of the Monopoly board game, featuring transactions conducted exclusively through coin transfers between digital wallets and supported by a custom blockchain explorer. This initiative enhances interactive learning within the Faculty of Business and Law by bridging theoretical accounting knowledge with cutting-edge technologies.
