Dr Vincent Moug serves as Senior Lecturer at the Queensland College of Art and Design, Griffith University, where he leads the Product Design Major within the Bachelor of Design program. Appointed in 2020, he previously held the position of Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Mobility Design Lab at Monash University, leading a social impact project on accessibility in public transport systems. Moug earned his Doctor of Philosophy from Monash University in the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, with a thesis entitled 'MIND THE GAP – a design strategy for accessibility compliance and user autonomy at the platform-to-train interface.' His academic interests center on design innovation, co-design, advanced manufacturing, and universal design, with a focus on accessibility in transport, rehabilitation, and product development.
Moug's scholarly contributions include publications such as 'Data Visualisation Prototypes for Problem Definition in the Design of Accessible Transport Solutions' (2021, chapter co-authored with Indae Hwang), 'The power of design to enrich the public transport experience' (2021, chapter), 'An analysis of station infrastructure design to improve accessibility' (2013, co-authored with Coxon), and contributions to 'Advancing a Design Approach to Enriching Public Mobility' (2021). He has secured funding through the 2024 GURIIS grant totaling $318,214 for the Inclusive Futures DESIGNLAB, in collaboration with Camila Shirota and Petra Perolini. In teaching, he convenes courses like Prototyping Techniques (2695QCA) and supervises student projects in product design for disability via partnerships with the Hopkins Centre. Moug engages in applied projects including the SEED PROJECT Design Café for innovation through lived experience, co-creative research on the Visions of Charles Bonnet, and presentations at the Repair All Hands on Deck Symposium 2023 on repositioning product design knowledge towards an open digital craft strategy. He has also featured in exhibitions such as Designing Culture.
