About William

Professor William Ho is Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management and Head of the Department of Management and Marketing in the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Melbourne. He holds a BEng degree with First Class Honours in Manufacturing Engineering from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2000), a PhD in Operations Research from the same institution (2004), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from Aston University (2009). Ho's academic career began at Aston University UK, where he held a tenured position from 2005 to 2013. During that time, he served as visiting professor at the University of Regensburg (2008), Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration (2008), and Rouen Business School (2009-2012). He joined the University of Melbourne in 2013 as a tenured professor.

Ho's research focuses on supply chain risk management, sustainable supply chain management, strategic sourcing, and supplier performance management, assisting organizations in designing resilient and sustainable supply chains. He has authored over 60 publications in top-tier journals including Journal of Operations Management, Operations Research, Decision Sciences, and European Journal of Operational Research, amassing over 13,900 citations and an h-index of 39. Key publications include "Multi-criteria decision making approaches for supplier evaluation and selection: A literature review" (Ho, Xu, Dey, 2010, European Journal of Operational Research, 3311 citations), "Supply chain risk management: a literature review" (Ho, Zheng, Yildiz, Talluri, 2015, International Journal of Production Research, 2041 citations), and "Integrated analytic hierarchy process and its applications – A literature review" (Ho, 2008, European Journal of Operational Research, 1823 citations). He has received several research awards and five large competitive grants from the Australian Government Cooperative Research Centre Program, UK Economic and Social Research Council (two), European Regional Development Fund, and National Natural Science Foundation of China.
