Yasuo Higurashi is an Assistant Professor in the Laboratory of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry at the Joint Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Yamaguchi University. His research interests include the evolution of locomotion in animals and the cortical control of locomotion. He has held his current position at Yamaguchi University since April 2017. Higurashi completed his graduate education at Osaka University Graduate School of Human Sciences, with periods of study from 2001 to 2005, 2005 to 2007, and 2007 to 2010.
